If I Was Palestinian
If I was Palestinian
I would demonstrate to Israel
My willingness to live in peace
With all my Jewish neighbors
Because who knows if they would not respond accordingly
With love in their hearts
And trust in their actions
And faith that in my actions
I would always do the right thing
For peace throughout the land
Such that and who's to say that such a day would never come
When all of Israel as one
Comes up to me and says,
Come, let's talk, O Ishmaelite,
O Son of Isaac's brother,
O Grandson too of Abraham to whom was promised all the land
And to his offspring too
And which was why we say to you
Why not we share it too
By splitting it in equal halves,
The first choice being yours,
By virtue of your birthright as firstborn son of Abraham
Or we could just live where we like
With no partition in the land
Which we shall name anew,
The Land Of Our Forefathers,
In both our languages. Arabic and Hebrew.
