Observations # 21

Although electric vehicles (EVs) might be the future, battery recharging times, the fastest being 20 minutes to an hour for direct current fast charging (DCFC) systems, will still be at a disadvantage in comparison to refueling times for fossil fuel-powered vehicles.

Hence, it would make more sense for EV recharging stations to switch used/spent batteries with fully-charged ones in as little time as possible, like F1 cars making pit stops during races, which would give them a competitive edge over DCFC stations.

The trick will be to do it in a more financially economic as well as time expedient manner, for example, as follows:

1. Reasonably-priced EV batteries that slide in and out from under the EV and designed specifically for the make and model of the EV concerned, for example, Tesla batteries for Tesla cars only.

2. Customers pay reasonably-priced security deposits for the batteries and only a minimal amount each time for a battery change, like exchanging empty cooking gas cylinders for refilled ones at minimal prices once security deposits has been made.

Observations # 20

The appointment of Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister by royal decree speaks volumes about the impartiality of the King and the Malay Rulers whose unanimous decision to appoint the Leader of the Opposition as the nation's next Prime Minister shows them to be above the pettiness of the scandal-loving-dirt-digging-mud-slinging-name-smearing-fault-finding-finger-pointing-hand-in-the-cookie-jar-catching nature of Malaysian politics, noble qualities distinguishing the royal families from us commoners.

My Achilles Heel

You I cannot lose,
I lose you I will die,
Died of a broken heart,
My tombstone will reveal.

You almost died today,
Or so it seemed to me,
Whilst struggling to dislodge
A bone stuck in your mouth.

Which is how I know,
You I cannot lose,
I lose you I will die,
Died of a broken heart,
My tombstone will reveal.

Observations # 18: The Hijab Issue Demystified

Ordinarily, in gender non-segregated societies, men who are sexually aroused by physically or sexually attractive women have countless ways to release built-up levels of sexual desire by means of sexual relations with their girlfriends, wives, mistresses, colleagues or even from one night stands involving just about anyone. If that wasn't enough, casual sex was available on a strictly professional basis.

However, it was an entirely different story in patriarchal male-dominated gender segregated societies.

Let's take a look at India, a patriarchal male-dominated gender segregated society. From an early age, males and females are kept apart in public except amongst close relatives. As a result, rape, and in some cases, violent rape, is common, as men have no legal way to release built-up levels of sexual desire as men in non-segregated societies do except with their own wives.

For unmarried men, the only other alternative is to be found in a brothel, which in some parts of India, and possibly linked to its caste system, is someone's house, someone who conveniently disappears so that his wife and daughters may entertain customers in peace.

Now, let's take a look at patriarchal male-dominated gender segregated Islamic societies such as Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia, to name a few, where wearing the hijab is mandatory for women in public.

Without the hijab, a woman is generally considered to be physically or sexually attractive from head to toe, which in turn sexually arouses a man whose only recourse for sexual release is in the arms of his wife, should that be the case.

However, as unmarried men have no such legal or legitimate means of sexual release except via illegal or illegitimate means which shall not be discussed here, making it mandatory for women to cover themselves
up from head to toe in public solves the problem of unintended sexual arousal on the part of women, thus enabling men with the ability to control or behave themselves in such patriarchal male-dominated gender segregated societies.

Observations # 17

While cats, once toilet-trained, know how to use the toilet, what they don't know, like some of us, is how to flush it afterwards.

In general, as far as cats are concerned, unless rigorously trained, like circus cats, the whole world was a toilet unless otherwise instructed one way or the other, a behavior commonly observed in human society where for a certain segment of the population, the whole world was (i) a public spitoon or (ii) a public rubbish bin, except in public-behavior-strictly-policed places like Singapore, and in places like India, (iii) a public urinal as well.

Why Birthdays Shouldn't Be Celebrated After The 30-Year-Old Mark

[sung] "Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you,
One year closer to dementia,
Happy birthday to you."

Monday 9 May 2022

Overheard At The Department Of Population Control

"So, how goes the start of the culling season for the Gregorian year 2022?"

"Well, according to reports from the ground, Vladimir Putin appears to be off to a good start. Thanks to him, about fifty-five thousand, civilians as well as soldiers, have been culled so far, not as many as other great warlords, dictators or conquerors may have racked up during their respective lifetimes, but, despite some setbacks and given time, he is expected to reach the 100,000 mark by June this year, with luck on his side, of course."

"What's the latest from the Infectious Diseases Sub-Division?"

"Less than six and a half million culled so far, according to reports from the ground, accredited to the Covid Nineteen virus, its variants and sub-variants. Not as impressive as in the case of some of the other culling agents, the Black Death of the fourteenth century for example, but expected to reach the ten million mark before it runs out of steam."

"Reports from the ground point to a potential kangaroo overpopulation problem in the Australian outback, but Australian wildlife department officials are confident of containing the rapidly increasing numbers by year's end."

"Sustainability Report?"

"According to our studies, the planet has been projected to be able to sustain life at current levels of depleted natural resources comfortably for the next fifty or so years, after which the implications are expected to be catastrophic. Planet sustainability figures are two billion in excess at current rates of resource depletion."

"There has been talk in the locker room about the benefits of a nuclear war, such as the one Vladimir Putin has a habit of threatening to unleash every now and then."

"Doomsday has been prophesied as an End Of Days event, not something as occurring this early. The planet has a lifespan of twelve cycles, each cycle lasting 200 million years, of which nine-and-a-half cycles have already been spent. Accordingly, two-and-a-half cycles, or a total of 500 million earth years, remain. Any nuclear war unleashed by Vladimir Putin will definitely not result in the annihilation of the entire planet or its contents. but it will definitely help bring down overpopulation figures to more planet sustainability levels, that is for sure. but don't quote me on that."

"As for your reports, they have been well noted. Good job, everyone. Carry on."

Coronavirus Jokes

Pro-Vaccination Proponent: Hey, buddy. Have you been vaxxed?

Vaccination-Allergic Snowflake: Nope.

Pro-Vaccination Proponent: Why not?

Vaccination-Allergic Snowflake: Needle allergy. Needle bad. Needle do harm. On the other hand, vaccine harmless. Virus seems to think so too.

Attention: Leaders Of The World

Here's how you'll know if the way you govern your country is good for your people.

Let all the nations of the world come together and unanimously appoint you as supreme ruler of the world for a 4-year term during which time peaceful street demonstrations will be allowed. Anything else will depend on your government's level of tolerance.

Now, govern the world the way you govern your own country and see how long you last or if you'll be re-elected come re-election time.

From here you'll know if the way you govern your own country is good only for or applicable only to your own people or is beneficial to or works for everybody else on earth as well.

Observations # 15

There are two classes of Chinese peoples. For the sake of simplification, let's designate them as Chinese-educated, people educated in Chinese-medium schools, and non-Chinese-educated, people educated in non-Chinese-medium schools.

Non-Chinese-educated people typically behave like urbanized city folk, people accustomed to high-tech gadgets, fancy cars, fashionable wear and so on.

Chinese-educated people typically behave like uncivilized jungle tribes, people unaccustomed to high-tech gadgets, fancy cars, fashionable wear and so on but have a very strong desire to show to the whole world, everyone in sight or within earshot, that they too are capable of owning high-tech gadgets, fancy cars, fashionable wear and so on like everyone else.

Observations # 13

One good thing about the heart is it never lies.

Be it cold, evil, wicked, filthy, corrupt, perverted, deceitful, cunning or hypocritical on one hand or good, generous, honest, loving, caring or warm on the other hand, the heart never lies, and therein lies its beauty.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations should be more people-friendly. The way it's done at present, with sharp needles, even children are terrified. How could they not be?

That's the trouble with humans, the way of men, or mankind if you like.

Pliers for rotten teeth and sharp needles for flu shots. Oh, let's not forget the hangman's noose, the executioner's axe and the electric chair for condemned criminals.

The way of men, or mankind if you like.

No wonder not everyone's falling over himself or herself in a rush to get vaccinated. Nothing wrong, or frightful, about vaccines, which by the way are medicinal in nature. It's the sharp needles used to inject them into our bodies that's the problem.

Anywhere else, a syringe with a sharp needle attached would potentially be considered a dangerous weapon, a sharp object, as forensic detectives at a crime scene would describe, but in hospital settings, or vaccination centers, they were considered standard tools for treating sick or unvaccinated people with, like pliers for rotten teeth, bone saws for pulling the ribs apart, scalpels for cutting into the flesh and, yes, needles and thread for stitching you up afterwards, like a torn shoe or worn-out clothes.

The way of men, or mankind if you like, in a godless, or pagan if you like, world, I might add.

Observations # 12

Doing the right thing, usually more troublesome, is not something embedded in the DNA of the general population, or so it seems.

What the general population prefers doing, or so it seems, is what's more convenient, and hence less bothersome, such as passing around bum (expertly-taped torn) currency notes, sometimes crumpled too,
usually in the course of cashier-customer transactions, in the hope it goes unnoticed, until it's too late.

Always check your loose change when it's handed to you for bum (expertly-taped torn) currency notes, sometimes crumpled too, seems to be what life is saying to you.

Oddly, no one checks to see if it's all there, the correct amount of loose change that's handed to you in the course of cashier-customer transactions, or so it seems, as that much honesty has come to be taken for granted, perhaps as cashier's perform cash transactions according to what their cash registers say how much was paid and how much change was due, or so it seems, yet again.
